Safety is managed as an operational priority across our manufacturing facilities, with defined responsibilities, controls and performance targets. Our Occupational Health and Safety Management System is aligned with ISO 45001:2018 and provides the framework for identifying risks, preventing incidents and continuously improving workplace safety.
Green Catalyst 2030 Targets
Zero workplace injuries and occupational diseases
Progress towards this target is monitored through injury and incident data, safety performance indicators and health and safety training coverage across our operations.
Safety Governance
The Group OHS Manager provides overall direction for the safety management system, supported by site-level, cross-functional Safety Teams comprising management, employees and union representatives.
These teams oversee implementation at operational level, participate in hazard identification and risk assessment, monitor workplace conditions and support safety training and incident investigation.
Managing Safety Risks
Hazard identification and risk assessment form the starting point of our safety management process. Regular inspections, safety walkthroughs and internal audits are used to identify risks, establish safety objectives and define corrective and preventive actions.
Specific controls are applied to higher-risk activities including chemical handling, machinery and other manufacturing hazards, supported by Standard Operating Procedures, work-permit systems and appropriate personal protective equipment.
Monitoring, Investigating and Learning
Incidents, accidents and near misses are formally recorded and investigated to identify root causes and prevent recurrence. Findings and corrective actions are reviewed through the safety management structure, while safety alerts are used to communicate lessons across the workforce.
An Accident Investigation Reporting System strengthens the consistent documentation and analysis of incidents and near misses, supported by standardised safety checklists and monitoring processes across operational areas.
Strengthening Operational Controls
Safety requirements are integrated into how operational changes and high-risk activities are managed. A formal change-management process requires safety risks to be assessed before operational, technical or infrastructure changes are implemented, while revised work-permit procedures strengthen controls over higher-risk work.
Contractors and service providers are also covered through defined safety requirements and the Contractor Safety Management framework.
Health & Wellbeing
Our approach extends beyond injury prevention to employee health and wellbeing through occupational health support, medical screening, health awareness and access to appropriate health services.
