The INNO Story
Launched in 2014, INNO marked a new direction for fabric innovation in Sri Lanka, creating a dedicated platform for developing fashion-forward, functional and value-added fabrics.
Today, our Innovation Centre brings together specialised laboratory capabilities, textile engineering and design expertise to accelerate development, explore new material platforms and translate ideas into commercially viable fabric solutions.
From Idea to Commercialisation
Innovation begins with understanding what the market, consumer or product needs next. We work directly with brand design, sourcing and technical teams to translate these requirements into fabric concepts that can be developed, tested and scaled for commercial production.
By bringing innovation and manufacturing together from the outset, we develop with commercial scale in mind — helping customers move more efficiently from an early-stage concept to a fabric that can be produced consistently, reliably and at scale.

01. Less Chemistry. Engineered into the Yarn.
Selected development programmes have used engineered yarn-based softness solutions to achieve the required fabric hand feel while reducing chemical use during finishing by 20%–30%.
02. Creating New Value from Recycled Materials
INNO has advanced the development of recycled yarn solutions, including Hayleys Fabric’s first patent application for a recycled yarn developed and launched through the platform.
03. Co-Creating for Future Seasons
We work with global brand teams and specialist partners on early-stage developments aligned with future seasonal roadmaps, allowing fabric concepts to be explored, tested and refined well ahead of commercial production.
