Zero Waste to Landfill
Hayleys Fabric has achieved Zero Waste to Landfill status, supported by a 4R framework that guides how materials are managed across our operations:
REFUSE
Avoiding unnecessary materials and selecting more responsible alternatives where possible.
REDUCE
Improving processes to reduce virgin material consumption and minimise waste at source.
REUSE
Repurposing materials within our operations to extend their useful life.
RECYCLE
Redirecting materials that cannot be reused into appropriate recycling and recovery pathways, including initiatives that convert plastic waste into yarn.
Creating New Value from Waste
We continue to explore opportunities to give textile and other production waste a second use through upcycling, recycling and new material applications, supporting a more circular approach to manufacturing.
Collaborating for Better Solutions
We work with leading Sri Lankan universities on research and applied projects across waste reduction, water management and Nature-based Solutions. These collaborations bring together technical research and manufacturing experience to develop practical solutions that improve resource efficiency and environmental performance.
