Responsible chemical management is embedded across our manufacturing processes, from the selection and sourcing of inputs to their use, handling and discharge. Our Chemical Management System provides a structured approach to managing chemical safety, restricted substances, traceability and compliance with global brand and regulatory requirements.
Advancing ZDHC Practices
Hayleys Fabric began implementing the ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL) in 2015 and became Sri Lanka’s first textile mill to be an official ZDHC signatory supplier in 2021.
Our chemical management practices incorporate the ZDHC Gateway, ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines and Roadmap to Zero, supporting greater visibility and control across chemical inputs and manufacturing processes.
Meeting Global Requirements
Our Chemical Management System is aligned with recognised international requirements including REACH, the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and California Proposition 65, alongside OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.
We also integrate customer-specific Restricted Substances Lists and Manufacturing Restricted Substances Lists into our processes to meet the individual chemical requirements of the global brands we work with.
Building Chemical Safety into Operations
Employees involved in chemical handling receive regular training covering safe use, storage and emergency response, supporting consistent application of chemical management requirements across our operations.
Strengthening Traceability
We work with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain traceability of chemical inputs and materials across the supply chain. Our Chemical Management System is reviewed and updated as standards, regulations and customer requirements evolve, supporting continued improvement in chemical safety and control.
